The Bristol Baptist Church Adult and Handbell Choirs are shown below. The intergenerational Handbell Choir rehearses most Thursday evenings, from 6:15 – 7:15. The Adult Choir (vocal) is open to singers in High School and older, and rehearses from 7:30 – 9 on Thursday nights. Our Youth Choir (upper elementary through high school students are welcome) rehearses from 11:45 – 12:30 on Sundays and presents a musical in the spring. Also, children and youth attending Sunday School start with 15 minutes of music and will typically sing a song in worship once a month.

The Adult Choir sings in worship weekly from after Labor Day through June. The Handbell Choir and Youth Choir present a musical offering about once a month.

In late June of 2009, our Handbell Choir participated in a regional “Festival Conference,” and we rang with 700 others in the hockey arena at the University of Maine. We are making plans to attend the next Festival Conference in late June, 2011.

Bristol Baptist Church has recently purchased an 1895 Gilbert and Butler tracker pipe organ and it is being installed in the chancel by Organbuilder Richard Hamar in the summer of 2010. This will enhance worship and add to the other fine instruments we have: a Baldwin baby grand piano, a 1970 Allen organ, 4 octaves of Malmark Handbells, and 3 octaves of Handchimes.

Bill Degan is the Music Director.
